does anyone know that actually 5800xM can perform more than what is given the 389MHz cpu processor? according to the JBenchmark highest record, Nokia 5800XM can perform A result of 450 MHz with ARM11, in which Nokia N97 only running at 300++ MHz. i believe 5800 can perform even better in the upcoming firmware.

Yes, we need someone with a real phone to run some benchmarks for comparison. E.g. how long does it take to auto-focus, how long from shutter-press to image saved to camera-ready-for-next-shot, how long to launch specific applications (e.g. Nokia Maps), etc.

You are not only paying extra for the extra hardware: compass, 32GB, bigger screen, QWERTY keyboard, more megapixels, but also better software: Widget screen.

The CPU is faster than the 5800, to keeep up with the extra stuff, but it shouldnt matter the CPU rating as it should just make the UI feel speedy. Its not how you do it, but that you do it.

I dont get it. If it isnt a fast cpu, then what am I paying a premium for? WHy is the price so high? They should make a 16 gb version thats cheaper to help sell the device.

SO disapointed. I really wanted the n97. Who knows, Maybe I’ll stil get one.
