We’ve just received confirmation that Hotmail for the Nokia Messaging serivce is temporarily down.  This is something that has been going on since Sunday the 10th of May. Davis Fields, Product Manager on Nokia Messaging has stated that: “This is a temporary problem – we’re working on resolving it now. We’re also exploring better ways to notify users of outages in the future, but this is a unique problem that we’re working on.”

I’ve tried adding a new Hotmail account to Nokia messaging, without any luck. On the actual app, all emails from my Hotmail account are not being displayed and instead you get notification saying that the service is down.

Update: The issues also seems to be affecting new installs. Setup of a new Nokia Messaging on a new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic doesn’t seem to be working with the setup basically stuck at the part where the SMS is send to allow the client provisioning.
