This is all very well, but if I try to charge my handset from a USB cable connected to my laptop, I get this message even though the battery is low, and it stops charging after 2 seconds. Sorry, Nokia, your attempt to be green is turning Nokia's once-legendary usability into a farce.

I understand the Nokia's efforts to Go Green, but alerting the member every few seconds to unplug the charger every few seconds though the battery is almost dead, is very irritating. It 'ok' to alert the user once the battery is fully charged, but not when it's in charging mode and those beepings I hate them. This one issue is making me rethink on my purchase as I can't have the phone next to me with it all the time while charging. Poor design by Nokia.

I have to say this message is really confusing. For may people the charge is known as a "power supply" and the message implys you should disconnect the phone from the cable, which you would normally already have done before seeing the message.

In addition, the text is just a cover for poor design. Most people have plug sockets in inconvienient places and asking them to remove them each time the phone is disconnected is more than irritating. A bit of thought in the design could produce a charger with minimal standby power usage, or even a switch built in to the phone connector. But then this is Nokia we're talking about here....
