Firing the built-in App. Update on the 5800 XpressMusic will come up with a mysterious Flash Lite 3.1 Update. Mysterious in the sense that this is the first time I see Flash Lite, a core part of the OS, being updated outside the regular firmware update. Usually this kind of stuff is imbedded in the new firmware. Could this be a start to quicker and more frequent updates to Flash Lite and or other components? We’ll be reporting soon if and when we see notable changes.
Update: According to the Adobe Flash Lite site, version 3.1 brings the following changes:
Update 2: Using the 5800 XpressMusic to watch the Desktop version of Youtube via the S60 browser, reveals much smoother video and quicker transition from standard to fullscreen view. But the biggest improvement comes to the Youtube seek bar: before the update it was most of the time difficult or impossible to use the seek bar, now it works perfectly.

Nice. I think this move also brings them closer to being able to upgrade to Flash 10 when that player becomes available sometime in the future. They’ve got a mechanism in place. I absolutely love this feature, and OTA updates should have been part of devices 4 years ago with Nokia (with no push from Apple and iPhone).

My 5800xm does not show anything in app updates. But my concern is that it doesnt even checks for updates it just states that all apps are up to date?? wtf? please help

marcin, just make sure when it’s “refreshing the list of available updates” make sure the icon showing that it’s connected shows up. It’s located at the upper right part of the screen above the clock.
If you see that it was searching correctly. Also make sure you have the latest firmware update.

Devin, the problem is I got firmware v21 and it is not refreshing a list, it just states “all applications are up to date” right after I choose “app. update” icon
I also have the same problem, I’ve got an Euro Version with Firmware v21.025 and when I try to ask to check for an update it says everything is up to date but it doesn’t even try to connect. But I think because the “automatically check for update” is on it doesn’t try as it has checked before, but how longe will I have to wait until get this cool update

Isn’t there a way to download a SIS or SISX and then force a manual update?
Everyday I get more and more upset about this handset…
Just a new information, I turned off the automatically update off, I changed the date to one day ahead and it did checked online for an update but it came out with “no updates available” … and just to be sure it didn’t made without my knowledge I checked the history and it says no updates were made so far

Well I installed the flash lite 3,1 update whitout any problems, I used the phone’s
app update tool. It worked just fine. I live in Finland so maybe the update just is not yet available where you live.

I love the Nokia 5800. A fabulous alternative for the overly hyped iPhone. Camera, Audio Player, Touch screen, Nice resolution. This will be my next phone, definately.

hi folks at nokia, I have a Nokia E90 communicator with Flash Lite 3.0 installed on it. i am looking for an upgrade to be able to view videos that require an update version. is this update available? If so where can I download it from.I am aware of flash lite 3.01 for the Nokia 5800. will this work with the Nokia E90
