After a period that almost seemed like they were on the way out, mobile codes are starting to popup everywhere, for this reason I decided to give it another try.
Nokia has a mobile code reader, but it doesn’t officially support 5th edition. While it does work on the N97, it has a few problems here and there. It’s also not as speedy as I would like.
Nokia has a list of recommended 3rd party mobile code readers so I decided to try a few of them. One surprise was the mobile code reader called I-nigma reader by 3GVision. It has the usual bells and whistles one would expect from a mobile reader, but what struck me was the speed. I created a test mobile code and to my surprise I noticed that I-nigma was able to scan the code even BEFORE I could properly position the camera in front of the code.
Other mobile would not only require perfectly positioning the camera in front of the code, but also waiting for it to scan and interpret the code, which can take as much as 20 seconds.
If you’re looking for a 5th edition mobile code scanner, I highly recommend I-nigma. As a second option, you could also try UpCode, which I also recommend.
Give I-nigma a try and and see what’s hidden in the code below:
The Fastest Mobile Code Reader in the West: I-nigma

Hi, Devin.
As you may know, we have been embedding our readers in handsets ever since 2002. But getting a nice review like yours is still as exciting as if it were our first time!
Thanks, Mendy

I am using 2D code decoder and it takes 2 s to scan and interpret the code.
With 20 s it looks like a nightmare.
After trying few reader I can tell i-nigma is definitely the quickest and the most accurate among them all.
Highly recommended.
True, i-nigma is really fast.
Quickmark has about the same scanning speed for me, but I need to adjust the zoom.
NeoReader is really slow, but I love its overlay mode – would be great to see that in other readers too.
AF Autofocus doesn’t work in latest smart phones by Samsung
with QR Code reader app at close distances.
Please tell me why Nokia is not supporting action tags and tags
in QR Codes and the above the Nokia Guide QR Code
is static.
I contacted Nokia’s developer of QR Code scanner as plugin to Firefox
and again, he claimed real app must be run on Nokia’s server,
so what was claimed to be a QR Code reader plug-in
is in reality a pure interface redirecting input to Nokia’s server.
Does it mean Nokia is giving up development of live QR Code reader
and is not goiong to support full line of their models of mobile phones ?
It looks like Samsung is global leader in mobile industry today.
