InfraRed is great standard. Simple and can be found in any house or flat, office… AirConditioning, Garage, TV, set-top box, VCR, DVD, home theater, … and so on…

I find it very unusual that modern phones, specially smartphones dont usualy support it.

So flexibile application for such use could be very useful.

Isn’t it stupid to have such powerful device in your hand and not to be able to change tv chanel?… or smimilar. smartphones are really becoming “star trek tricoders”

Imagine use N900 to control your hometheater just like Harmony does! Very good !!!
