The Nokia Guide and Dataviz contest: Win a N900 Documents To Go license

I would love to see Documents To Go incorporate support for Microsoft OneNote files. If you do a lot of digital note-jotting or if you’re a student, you know that OneNote comes in handy and it wouldn’t hurt to have your notes everywhere you go…even when you leave the laptop at home.
I would love to see OpenDocument support. A.K.A. OpenOffice file support. The point of having an open source phone is to use open source things.
Viewing in portrait mode would be great. Obviously it would require some serious interface tweaking and changes, but viewing some files in portrait mode would be nice.

I would like to see if it can incorporate a business card scan feature in it. It will really be a plus point just like a bar code reader.
PDF converter and viewer will be nice.
* save as PDF.
* sync with online site.
I’d like to edit a document from PC also.
* auto revision management.
* support macro, e.g. javascript etc.
I would like to see Documents to go support saving documents in PDF format for easy emailing and file storage
I’d like native office 07 support if not available
I have been using DTG since the Palm T5 days; after switching to the Nokia family, I find the actual software can accomplish a lot more, by providing its users with more option geared to the user’s needs as appose to corporate restrictions.
The Nokia N900, is a device like no other, and therefore, Dataviz should offer elements within DTG to reflect quality of the device.
Cheers,
I would like to see the ability to search PDFs and possibly OCR and create/edit PDFs.

Support for viewing in Portrait mode would be great as well as the ability to edit documents!
Good day to you sirs.
It would be great to have:
1. Russian localization in your store and in Settings part of your program.
2. PayPal support in checkout (also if I won’t won a license, I’ll buy it via credit card instead).
3. ODF/docx.
Thank you.
P.S. Your trial expires in 14 days
P.P.S. retweeted blue13x
Ebook reading feature: features .doc, .pdf, .prc support with read and search-mode only, in portrait.
Would be great to have:
1. OpenDocument support
2. OCR for converting pictures into documents
3. The ability to edit the documents
4. PDF export
5. Special tv out powerpoint mode
6. Shake to change slide when using tv out(would be great for presentations on the go
I haven’t received my N900 yet, so I haven’t had a chance to try D2G. But from using it on my old Palm TX, the things I really wanted were:
1) Better support for mathematical formula’s (integrals, summations, etc.)
2) PDF exportation (as stated above)
3) Better support for complex spreadsheet features (conditional formatting, complete Excel function compatibility like vlookups, isna, etc.)
I would defenetely like to see the support for editing the documents
As for most n900 software that has a PC companion i’d like to see some simple sync integration with e.g. the PC suite. Something the palms already had that allows me to keep my docs on the unit updated without having to explicitely copy files forth and back.
- Edit documents
- Upload to Google docs
- Search as you type
As others have mentioned: OpedDocument support.
Also, an easy way to upload and/or sync to Google Docs would be nice.
I would like to see:
-ebook reading support :prc, pdf,doc,.
-creat /edit pdf
OpenOffice file support is the way to go for a open device! Strongly recommend that!
We need a kind of ms project and Visio for the n900. This would make it truly mobile and with those apps you can leave your big laptop at home.
Uploading Google docs would be nice and exporting drifferend file types
Editing and pdf support (as built-in pdf viewer is not very capable) are must-have features. Epub support will be really nice.
As mentioned, viewers for MS Project and Visio files would be fantastic; but just as interesting would be basic editing of Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. The ability to write, and give, a presentation – in a common format – directly from the N900′s TV out would be fantastic!
documents to go should have the ability to scan typed documents using the camera and should use Optical Character Recognition to convert it into an editable document
I could use the viewers well.
As for the slides to go viewer: full PPS support including sounds would be nice!
Word to go: more options for zoomimg, including spinning gesture.
Spreadsheet to go: the same.
Besides that a major wish: editing editions!!!!!
I would like to see an ability to Open up Microsoft Project Files.
In Office, I would like to see the ability to export in different formats.
I have many ideas:
1) Portrait mode would be very great to read stuff
2) Are macro’s supported yet???? (Word and Sheet to go)
3) Would be also great for a Fully functional Slideshow (powerpoint) viewer incl sound support.
Thank you!
View/Edit Microsoft Project Files
Create PDF
ODF support
It would be nice if I could zoom the way the N900 apps and browser can zoom: By rotating the stylus (or finger) clockwise or counter-clockwise. This is also a much more fine-grained incremental zoom than what the zoom buttons provide.
And OpenOffice presentations in addition to ppt.. that would be nice too.
1) Spiral zoom.
2) Ability to change font size.
3) Edit text. spell check.
4) Ability to create word and power point documents.
Ability to pop up a formatting palette by swiping from the left/right of the screen.
Add support for localized user interface. At least for all languages N900 supports officially and possibility to have community translation for other languages.
A really good spellchecker. Thats one of the main reasons I open word.
I would like to see:
1.Excel have the ability to do some formulation calculation and graphing
2.Can save as PDF format
3.Support Docx and openoffice Format
4.Word Art on both PowerPoint and Word
5.Language support (English, French, …etc)
6.Footer and header
7.Draw or art work
PDF export is the feature I would like.
Any exports to decent formats you could implement would be much appreciated, in order of preference:
PDF
HTML (With basic formatting)
Plain Text
Also ability to upload/sync with google docs, possibly other services.
Exporting PDF files will be great.
edit office ( word, excel, ppt )
open pdf
rotate the screen ( portail mode )
open html, rtf ( make it a e-book reader )
online storage for documents etc.
I would love to see an editing mode. As I need to be able to edit word and excel documents on the go that missing feature alone prevents me from buying DocsToGo for Maemo5.
However, as most of my clients now accept OpenDocument format. I would absolutely love would be able to view and edit .odt and .odf files.
pdf edit
rotate feature when opening files, for an easy read.
seemless integration when viewing pptx with linked files, e.g playing a imported object movie from file on a power point presentation with no lag.
advanced database program
user friendly experience respective to users’ normal office programs, e.g an option/theme for the toolbars and menus to look like office03 or if someone uses office07/10 then a theme respectively for consistent productivity when producing documents/spreadsheets/presentations. so that its easier to get used to.
I’d love to see wizards to create resumes and other common documents.
KISS
the simpler the better, although….
OCR from camera would be amaaazing although probably better as a app itself
Google mail sync would be nice but again, it can save to txt/doc files which GoogleDocs can open and vice-versa
Printer support to local network printer
Font support
Open Office support
visio-viewing
support for the spiral zoom gesture in all documents.
Another request to save as pdf.
Editing is a given, some kind of integration with Google docs would be incredibly sexy.
- edit documents
- save as pdf
Thank you
I’d love to see the ability to open embedded documents in a slideshow.
I would like to see in future releases:
1) Ability to edit .doc .xls and .pps/ppt files
2) When viewing powerpoint files, ability to see animations or hear to audio files attached to the presentation
Being able to graph in Excel would be extremely helpful!
[...] winners of our The Nokia Guide and Dataviz contest were actually chosen by the Product Manager of Documents To Go for Maemo! After much deliberation [...]
I’d like to see:
= edit the document
= use te excel and pp
