hey jaques,

mms support is there in maemo. try downloading the softwares from app-manager. the mms software there works fine. ovi maps also work for me. even there is a metro maps software that provides metro maps for almost all major cities. also you could alternatively use the terminal to search for softwares.. by apt-cache search "name"..
the more i explore N900 the more i love it and admire its strength..
happy N900ing!

The N900 has been out nearly over 9 months now, we have been promised by Nokia that they will release software shortly that will allow us to us MMS (which is basic to all smart phones) and also, they were working to give us free maps navigation, but frankly, I don't know how long that will take, I am starting to think that I made a mistake by choosing the N900. You can’t download maps; you can’t use Nokia PC suite fully (as messaging) or Ovi Suite. The applications on Ovi store or Maemo site are old and no new applications are appearing. Is Nokia abandoning N900 users? If that state goes too long, I will sell that phone even at a loss and jump on the Apple camp for the first time. Please Nokia, I need some reassurance.

I cannot express enough my dissapointment with the N900.
I was looking for a business grade phone upgrade from my Nokia 9500 Communicator and the N900 seemed to be the best option.
My Communicator had good synchronicity with my PC with such abilities as automatic convertion of MSOffice documents and Outlook synchronisation...basic functionality for a business grade phone!!!
No I find I have to pay to convert documents and PC Suite doesn't completely work. Why do Nokia keep churning out phones that they cannot support???
I should have chosen the iPhone....Never will I buy a Nokia phone.

I used to have an N95 8GB and upgraded to the N900, backed up all my old contacts and messages, important messages of a personal nature, using PC Suite but of course it won't put that content back onto my N900. It does work yes, but only in a limited sense.
