Nokia World 2010 Here We Come!

NokiaWorldinvite

Today I  heard the great news that I’’ll be attending Nokia World 2010, thanks to our friends at WOMWorld/Nokia! If you’re a Nokia fan, Nokia World is THE place to be, that one event held once a year showcasing the latest and greatest from Nokia. Basically all the devices and services you’d want to have and use right after the show.

The event will be held at the ICC London ExCeL in London on the 14 and 15 of September. Expect great coverage from The Nokia Guide, as we’ll ask all the questions, take lots of pictures, get information on the latest devices, services and applications and try to sneak in an interview or two.

Who can you expect to see in London?

1.Leading up to Nokia World 2010, WOMWorld/Nokia and several other bloggers and Nokia enthusiasts have put together a meet up to be held at WOMWorld/Nokia (1000Heads) HQ (44 Great Windmill Street, London,W1D 7NB)  on the 13th of September between 3pm and 7pm. An updated list of attendees can be found here.

2.The OVI Blog also held a competition, where 3 winners were chosen and now a total of 6 winners will join us in London.

3.The WOMWorld/Nokia team

4.Several Nokia Bloggers like @MarkGuim from TheNokiaBlog, @Nirave from mobile-users.net, @worldofnokia (Dan) from Worldofnokia.co.uk, @MichaelxHell from Fonearena.com, @MickyFin from Nokiausers.net/ NokiaDNA.com, @v4ibhav from thehandheldblog.com,  just to name a few. (Contact me to update the list)

SO there you go, two great events in one very short time frame. Who else is attending Nokia World this year?

Remember to send in your questions or things you’d like us to cover at Nokia World 2010! See you there.

#N97minitrunk The Story Challenge 4: “Snake”

Gaming on the N97 mini is easy, but gaming on the #N97minitrunk is not. Not only does it lack power, but the lack of QWERTY keyboard and directional buttons make things a bit difficult. Thankfully it’s loaded with goodies that made gaming on a large scale possible. Only problem is that it did require lots of energy to play a simple game of Snake. Next time I’m sticking to the N97 mini.

Challenge 3

Pimpfinal

Both mini and the trunk showed Denirah that here music listening habits were more 1940s than 2010. With the press of the multi-tasking button she got the gear to match the year: N97 mini and full wireless sound with the BH-905. Denirah, your sound has officially been pimped!

#N97minitrunk Challenges: Introduction

20100423_001

No, it’s not the attack of the giant N97 mini, but close. Thanks to our friends @WOMWorldNokia I received the biggest mobile box I’ve ever seen! And inside this giant box a Nokia N97 mini and a lot of goodies for another crazy and fun challenge. The E75 was the subject of the previous Teach the Technophobe: Challenge, but this time it’s the N97 mini’s turn in this #N97minitrunk Challenge. Who else to help me with this challenge, but Denirah, from the previous challenge.

The idea is to complete the 5 tasks using a red disposable camera with just 27 shots to capture the moments using the giant N97 mini trunk. Using the included photo album, we have to create the best “N97mini trunk album.” The winning team wins 2 N97 minis.

Counting down to Nokia’s event

Everyoneconnectedevent2010

In about 11 hours (and counting) Nokia will be holding an event with the theme “Everyone connect,” with their usual timer counting down to the event at Events.nokia.com website. There’s been a lot of speculation as to what this could be: Updated Nokia Messaging, Cseries devices, a Symbian^3 device or perhaps the first MeeGo device is set to make its appearance? Guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

What’s Any idea what we’ll see tomorrow?

The Countdown Has Begun…For Something

count26012010

Notice the little countdown on the right? Apparently it’s a countdown for some big Nokia related event this Thursday. We’re not sure what it is, but judging by the invitations going around, there’s a big chance this could be OVI related. Perhaps the rumored OVI store 2.0, including a new OVI store app? How about the announcement of a new device, like the rumored N87? Or that the Nokia will be opening a new manufacturing plant orbiting around the earth? Ok, the chances of that last one are slim, but it could be anything.

In Nokia’s terms, a countdown means something. We’ll see what it is on Thursday.

What do you think it could be?
